Our History
LACE was founded by Arabic, Hindi and Urdu language and literature faculty at New York University in 2018, with support from the Hagop Kevorkian Center for Near Eastern Studies at NYU. In partnership with Columbia University, LACE began to offer professional development locally and virtually, with participation from local communities, school teachers and university faculty.
LACE has gradually grown into an international initiative supported by educators affiliated with Yale University (US), Sofia University (Bulgaria), Indraprastha College (India), University of Texas at Austin (US), to date.
